TIME TO FOCUS ON YOUR VIRTUES

Time to focus on your virtues
Proverb 31:10-29

Virtue - the quality or practice of moral excellence, righteousness, or good.

vs 10 Who can find a virtuous woman? for her price is far above rubies.

What a question to ask? Who can find a virtuous woman?

Who can find a woman of strong character?

vs 11 The heart of her husband doth safely trust in her, so that he shall have no need of spoil. -Trust Worthy! - She is trusted by her husband in all her endeavors. From her personal life.
I believe trust is an important factor. It takes two.

1) The trust of the husband is extremely important! Example: If you meant your lady at the CLUB

- YOU DON'T EXPECT HER TO SETTLE DOWN RIGHT AWAY!

- (Ladies and gentlemen) if you could not trust your spouse before you got married, then do think you going to be so easy to let it go!

- UNLESS YOU BOTH ARE MUTUALLY ON ONE ACCORD. - If there is not trust then a marriage can fall.

vs 12 She will do him good and not evil all the days of her life.

- Her goal is first to her God second to her husband and third to her children.Wives, submit yourselves unto your own husbands, as unto the Lord.

For the husband is the head of the wife, even as Christ is the head of the church: and he is the savior of the body. Therefore as the church is subject unto Christ, so let the wives be to their own husbands in every thing. (Ephesians 5:22-24 AV)

- (For some wives, this would be hard) but for the virtuous woman this would not be hard. She understands that she is the helpmeet to her husband (helpmeet - a helpful partner).

Not the servant/slave but the helpmeet.

Example: WOMEN if you see your MAN struggling help

- Man if you see your lady handling her business HELP HER AND GET A JOB! She has a role in the family as so does her husband.

vs 13 She seeketh wool, and flax, and worketh willingly with her hands. She doesn’t mind working. She does her part to keep the family together. She is industrious

- skillful, constant, habitually active and diligent

- SHE NEVER CHANGES!EXAMPLE: Some woman are just lazy and don't want to do anything!! - I HAVE MY MAN NOW! THIS IS NOT YOUR EXCUSE TO RETIRE BECAUSE YOU GOT A GREAT MAN! Stay Active!Stay Diligent!

You've impressed the man to get him, so keep it up!

vs 14 She is like the merchants’ ships; she bringeth her food from afar.

-She manage things well. -Prosperous in her way of thinking.

-Characterized by her way of management.

-Shes a go getter, She goes out and get's it and brings it home.

vs 15 She riseth also while it is yet night, and giveth meat to her household, and a portion to her maidens. When She is in a bind, she will not Rest until she is out of (Poverty/struggle)

- SHE WILL NOT REST TILL SHE FIND'S AN ANSWER

- NOW IS NOT THE TIME TO PANIC "I WILL NOT LIVE LIKE THIS FOR TOO LONG"16 She considereth a field, and buyeth it: with the fruit of her hands she planteth a vineyard. {buyeth: Heb. taketh} She works and stores her money. she uses wisdom and invest into property and land.

- When a good woman plants a field of dreams and endevors it will grow and bear fruit.

vs 17 She girdeth her loins with strength, and strengtheneth her arms. She is willing to do hard work!

vs 18 She perceiveth that her merchandise is good: her candle goeth not out by night. -

-She is willing to work long hours.
-Her mentality towards her duty is good and her candle will never go out.
-Her Mind Is Always Thinking!

vs 19 She layeth her hands to the spindle, and her hands hold the distaff.

She is willing to do TEDIOUS and TIRESOME work under intense pressure!

vs 20 She stretcheth out her hand to the poor; yea, she reacheth forth her hands to the needy.

-She is compassionate and very understanding. (She is not feisty, she makes herself relate)
-She give what she have if necessary to people.

vs 21 She is not afraid of the snow for her household: for all her household are clothed with scarlet.

-Not affraid of what comes because she stores early.
-Store for a rainy day.
-She prepares for the future.
-She sets things up in advance. A woman should look nice for her husband. The same as with the husband.

vs 23 Her husband is known in the gates, when he sitteth among the elders of the land. Everybody knows he has a good wife.

She is married to a Leader.

Wives who are virtuous are known to be virtuous.

She will not cause him embrassment or shame in the public.

Proverb 12:4 virtue woman is a Crown to her husband but she that maketh shame is as (Rotteneness/Envyous Heart) in his bones.

POINT-
It will bring ENVY to the heart of that man when he come in contact with another stabled woman/marriage

It is man's job to show and to minister his characteristics in her by example. This will convict and compell her to go to the next level.

That Woman will follow that man in the way:
The way he talks.
The way he acts.
The way he looks.

PEOPLE WILL NOTICE!!!!

A Virtuous woman is also a good Mother.

vs 24 She maketh fine linen, and selleth it; and delivereth girdles unto the merchant.
-She gathers her substance and makes it.
-She take (Her Gifts) of what she makes and sell it in the Market Place.

vs 25 Strength and honour are her clothing; and she shall rejoice in time to come.

She is clothed with strength and dignity, (She is a strong woman and is respected by the people)

- Her demeanor and garment is respectable
She looks forward to the future with joy of expectation!

vs 26 She openeth her mouth with wisdom; and in her tongue is the law of kindness.
She is not a loud mouth person or ignorance with her speech but she will know her environment and have a good answer because fellowship time with God. Some things in life have to be sown and then it will become respected.

vs 27 She looketh well to the ways of her household, and eateth not the bread of idleness.

1.Wives downfall is idleness. I think one of the worst idleness is "Soap Operas".
Many marriages have been broken up because the husbands could not live up to the standard.

2.Real Housewives, Basketball/football Housewives IS NOT YOUR TUTOR!

vs 28 Her children arise up, and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praiseth her.

She is recognized by her children.

As is known behind every great man there is a woman and behind every great child there is a mother.
vs 29 Favour is deceitful, and beauty is vain: but a woman that feareth the LORD, she shall be praised.
Charm is deceitful and beauty is vain, - You only going to go so far with your looks.

-But a woman who [s]fears the LORD, she shall be praised. -IT MOST BE SOMETHING MORE

CONCLUSION

God’s ideal is for you to have each one of these working in your life.
That is his ideal but he knows it is a process just as sanctification is a process so he wants you to strive for these.

Let you sight be set on these.
So I ask you wives do you need help?

I want to issue you a challenge.

Maybe you have been focusing on what your husband needs to do and it is time to focus on your virtues.

Maybe you have not lived up to God’s standard. God is there to help you are you willing to take the plunge.

Me and my "Big Mouth"!

Me and my Big Mouth!

A. We are a nation of talkers

1. On average we engage in 35 conversations per day.

2. We spend almost 25% of our lives talking.

3. We speak enough words each year to fill a 53,000 page novel.

4. Talk radio, TV talk shows, over 100 million cell phones.B. Words are powerful1. A judge denies a stay of execution and a prisoner is executed.

2. A gossip spreads a rumor and a reputation is blemished.

V. We must let God guide us in our use of speech.

1. That begins even with our thoughts – 2 Corinthians 10:5

2. We are to present ourselves as living sacrifices – Romans 12:13. Jesus submitted to God’s will – John 6:38

C. As we close, let us consider again the words of James

1. James 3:2 – “
If anyone does not stumble in word, he is a perfect man, able also to bridle the whole body.”

2. James 3:5 – “The tongue is a little member and boasts great things.”
