IT'S TIME TO TURN THE PAGE

It's Time to Turn the Page

It's Time To Let It Go!

Sunday Morning Service - Blessed Trinity Church Of Deliverance
February 14, 2010

Philippians 3:12-14 – 12 Not that I have already obtained all this, or have already been made perfect, but I press on to take hold of that for which Christ Jesus took hold of me.

13 Brothers, I do not consider myself yet to have taken hold of it. But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead,

14 I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus. Five lessons we can learn from Paul:

1. We all have an imperfect past.None of us can look at our past and see nothing we aren’t ashamed of.We all have blemishes and stains that we’d just as soon no one knew about or that we’d just as soon forget.

The apostle Paul was no different. He had a pretty ugly past in persecuting the Church of Christ, and my guess is that he had plenty of time to reflect on the shame of that.

But we also have to remember that Paul was a RELIGIOUS PERSON even before he met Christ.

He was a Pharisee, he was an up and coming religious leader who had the trust of the religious establishment in place during the early days of the Church.

He could quote Scripture, he attended the synagogue probably every week, he had it going!!But all of his religion didn’t keep him from having a past that he didn’t treasure as time went by.

You might have grown up in church, you might have been involved in church, you might have been a church leader of some sort. But just the same, you have an imperfect past.

It’s imperfect because of the presence of sin in your life.
It’s imperfect because you have chosen your way over God’s way many times.
And there’s no way to get away from that fact. But the second lesson we can learn from Paul is that…

2. We don’t have to be a slave to that past.Paul could have said, “Look.

1. I put people in prison,
2. I voted for the death penalty for Christians I arrested.
3. There is no hope for me, and there is no way I could ever be used by Christ.

”But he insisted here that he had something work moving on for.He could look back on the fact that Christ redeemed him from his past, and was continually working in him.He says here that in spite of his past, he was moving on.

Inspite of the pitfalls - I'M MOVING ON
Inspite of the stupid mistakes - I'M MOVING ON
Inspite of my past it's time to - TURN THE NEXT PAGE IN MY LIFE!

How does he say it? “Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what’s ahead.”He recognized his past, but he refused to be a slave to it.

1. I'm not going to be a slave to - Depression
2. I'm not going to be a slave to the memory of the - Rejection in my life
3. I'm not going to be a slave to the reflection that - Almost killed me

Paul was a few years away from his death when he wrote this book.He was under house arrest, with a Roman guard hanging out all the time, in a time when being a Christian was a pretty dangerous thing. Here’s a guy who had an imperfect past, and then had decades of fruitful ministry.

I know i have be a disappointment but now is the time to be fruitful!!

I having giving God my best!

Pastor, I know I could have giving my best and I seen you struggling and all I did was complain. Paul was the most successful evangelist and church planter in the history of the early church. And yet he still felt he had something to shoot for and work for.

1. Paul still was'nt satisfied

Have you ever been to a place in your life that just going to CHURCH every sunday was'nt enough?

It was more!!!!

He still felt that he had a ways to go in his relationship and service for Christ. And in spite of his circumstances, he still wanted to strengthen those things.

They might think they’ve got it all together and don’t need to work on strengthening their relationship with Christ.Or they may be in a particular life situation that causes them to think that it’s not worth the effort.

I don't care were you are at!

Your faith maybe low today due to circumstances that took place!
We can see that it’s never too late, and our circumstances don’t need to stand in the way of our effectiveness for Christ.

3. No matter our current circumstances, we can move on to better and greater things.Paul was an old man, under house arrest in Rome, just a few years from putting his head on the chopping block when he wrote this letter to the Philippians. He could have just sat back and “retired” from living for Christ and from ministry, but

he still had work to do.

1. It didn’t matter that he was under house arrest.
2. It didn’t matter that he was an older man.
3. It didn’t matter what his current circumstance was.
4. He needed more of Jesus and he was willing to make the effort to make it happen.

Point ~

1. Refuse to blame your past for your present, or let it ruin your future.

2. You can’t go back into your childhood, that marriage, or a past failure Accept it!

3. Dismiss what used to be.

4. Move on and turn the page!

Isaiah 43:19 “Remember not the former things, neither consider the things of old. Behold, I will do a new thing.”

It's TIME TO TURN THIS PAGE!!!!

THE GOSPEL ACCORDING TO (YOU)

THE GOSPEL ACCORDING TO (YOU)

Thursday - GLOBAL BIBLE STUDY LESSON

January 28, 2010

The question is how do you see your gospel?

How loud is the eco sound of the faith according to your gospel?

Often times we will protest against our on nature & Identity do to our condition and horrific circumstances. At the same time we are informed by the spirit of God concerning the seed of our own (gospel - word) that the father has formed pronouns out of himself by way of prophesy concerning as us.

Although we have thing in this system trying to define us stating that you are: Unattractive, Too Short, Too black, Too pale, Too fat, or Too skinning God had stated in your spirit that he had have defined you!

(You are beautifully and wonderfully made)

BEFORE TIME - Our Father knew that your:

1. Your Mother was going to make that mistake & slipped up at the age of 16 yr old
2. Your biological father was married with 2 other kids and your mom was the mistress
3. You was the prodigy of a rape baby

BUT IN GOD'S EYES IT DID 'NT MATTER HOW YOU'VE ARRIVED TO THIS PLANET YOU WAS GOING TO WIND UP BEING THE HEAD AND NOT THE TAIL!

YOU JUST HAD TO GET HERE - THAT'S WHY YOU BEEN THROUGH SO MUCH!

And with this same word it is spoken BEFORE WE KNEW IT! in hopes that we will reply verbally coming into the understanding by faith and make a spiritually decision to promote this express thought (God's vision concerning you) to the earth baring witness that JESUS LIVES

1. Jesus knew that faith and obedience must be expressed in new actions for maturing believers. When the Lord Jesus invited Peter to walk on the water He said, "Come." Peter got down out of the boat, walked (On Faith) toward Jesus. But when he saw the (Wind - Currant, Distractions,) he was (Afraid- Brought into the reality) and beginning to (Sink - Results of the Faith/Gospel According to peter), cried out, "Lord, save me!" Jesus said, "You of little faith, why did you doubt? You was right there" (Matt. 14:29-31)

Same of us be right at the brink of our blessing and we panic!!!

Point - Often new experiences require a higher level of faith and obedience. Let the Lord show you greater things as you express a new willingness to venture in uncharted waters of relationships, ministries and obedience.

Illustration: Faith and works should travel side by side, step answering to step, like the legs of men walking. First faith, and then works; and then faith again, and then works again -- until they can scarcely distinguish which is the one and which is the other.

2. Jesus honored people who risked shame, frustration and disappointment in coming to Him by faith. A Canaanite woman came crying to Jesus, "Lord, have mercy on me! My daughter is suffering terribly from demon-possession. The disciples said, ’Send her away’. The came and knelt before Jesus and said, "Even the dogs eat the crumbs that fall from their masters’ table.’ Then Jesus answered, "Woman, you have great faith! Your request is granted. And her daughter was healed was healed from that very hour." (Matt. 15:22-28) Be willing to risk in order to see God work great things for you and your situations. Illustration: God our Father has made all things depend on (Law of faith) so that whoever has faith will have.....

4. Jesus remembered how His Father in heaven told Abram, "Leave your country, your people and your father’s household and go to the land I will show you." I will make you into a great nation and I will bless you; I will make your name great, and you will be a blessing." (Gen. 12:1,2) The Lord Jesus realized that all people are tempted to stay with what is familiar and secure, but God calls them to greater places throughout life.

Point - God say go with your gut and leading of my spirit thought your own conscience and GO TO THE LAND THAT I WILL SHOW YOU.

Some of us has been lingering in our self- employed land with no intention of conqouring true purposes, relationship and identity with GOD!

~ Some of us have vision and dreams that are lying dormant!
Ask the Lord to help you to be more like Abraham who staggered not at the promise of God through unbelief, but who grew strong in faith being fully persuaded that what God promised, He was able to deliver. (Rom. 4:20,21)

5. Jesus called the disciples out of their vocational and family security to become full time fishers of men. The Lord Jesus called Peter and Andrew while they were casting a net into the lake of Galilee. He said, "Follow Me and I will make you fishers of men." (Matt. 4:19) We may not know of the changes ahead, but we can be confident in the character of our leader who does not change. (Heb. 13:8)

Where God leads, He provides - have not seen the righteous forsaken, nor his seed begging bread (Psalms 37:25)

6. Jesus knew that the majority of believers would remain unwilling to change their jobs, their schedules or their relationships for fear of trying something new. The Lord Jesus said, "Do not be afraid, little flock, for your Father has been pleased to give you the kingdom." (Luke 12:32) Ask the Lord’s help in overcoming your fears of change.

7. Jesus knew how to motivate people to try new things. Jesus sent 72 disciples out two by two ahead of him to every town and place where he was to preach. He told them, "The harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few. Ask the Lord of the harvest to send workers into his harvest field_ He who listens to you listens to me; he who rejects you rejects me. IF A PEOPLE IS WILLING TO TAKE INSTRUCTIONS IS FIT FOR THE NEXT LEVEL

The 72 returned with joy and said, ’Lord, even the demons submit to us in your name.’"(Luke 10:1,16,17)

Ask the Lord for wisdom, knowledge and passion to motivate your disciples to try new ministries for His kingdom purposes.

POINT- Sometimes these disciples can be your mind, body, or just plan YOU!
We have to moviate & speak to ourselves then we will start to move and take action!8. Jesus wanted people to see greater things through their new ministries. Jesus said, "Unless a kernel of wheat falls to the ground and dies, it remains only a single seed. But if it dies, it produces many seeds. The man who loves his life will lose it, while the man who hates his life in this world will keep it for eternal life. Whoever serves me must follow me." (John 12:24-26) In order to see greater things we must be willing to lay aside some of our comfortable lifestyle and surrender it fully follow our Lord and His ministries.Ask the Lord to help you to escape from your comfort zone and follow the Jesus wherever He takes you.

Conclusion: Faith and Obedience must be expressed in new actions for maturing believers. Don't be afraid to walk out on faith like Peter! He walk on the faith and Jesus said, "Come." the key is when you hear the Lord say "come" and your flesh protest against it labeling your Gospel "I'm afraid according to (Your Name) " that us when you know you must go!! Peter got down out of the boat, walked (On Faith) toward Jesus.
